All other volunteers:
Gord Bartlett, Jacques Bisaillon, Graham Butler, Annette D'Andrade, Maurice Descoteaux, Ann Dobbin (Raper), Madeleine Gaudreault,  France Gosselin, Monique Lavigne, Roger Lesiège, Gail Lockhart, Charlotte Martineau, Dan Maurice, April McSavaney, Johanne Mazeroll, Douglas McIntyre, Ann McMaster, Christine Mimeault, Roger Murphy, Bernard Ouellette, Raymonde Parenteau, Danielle Patry, Pauline Petroff, Raul Pumber, Pat Price, Hélène Rouisse, Tony Sledge, Tony Street, Joan Thorpe and Suzanne Valiquette.

Finally, I thank our 3 sponsors who have supported this website throughout its existence:

Please note that as long as the health permits, I continue to organize the Christmas dinners and if the demand still exists, the monthly dinners. I will also continue to send you emails about general items such as death notices, tips and tricks, and other items relevant to Yellow Pages retirees. Finally, I continue to represent you on the YPPG Board.

It was a great pleasure to serve you and inform you through this website.

With technology evolving so rapidly, this could be true sooner than we think.....       (NEW)   bY Maurice Descoteaux

- Hello! Gordon's Pizza?
- No sir, it is Google Pizza.
- So, I have the wrong number?
- No sir, Google bought Gordon's Pizza.
- OK. Take my order please ..
- Well sir, you want the usual?
- The usual? How do you know me?
- According to your caller ID, the last 12 times, you ordered pizza with cheese, sausage, thick crust ...
- OK! OK! That's it.
- Sir, may I suggest to you this time ricotta cheese, arugula with sun-dried tomatoes?
- No, I hate vegetables.
- But your cholesterol is high!
- How do you know?
- Through the Lab subscriber's guide. We have the results of your blood tests for the last 7 years.
- Okay, but I want my regular pizza, I already take medicine.
- But sir, you have not taken your medicine regularly. Four months ago, you only purchased a box with 30 tablets at Drugsale Network.
- I bought more from another drugstore.
- It is not showing on your credit card.
- I paid in cash.
- But you did not withdraw that much cash according to your bank statement.
- I have other sources of cash.
- This is not showing on your last Income-Tax return, unless you got it from an undeclared source.
- WHAT THE HELL? Enough! I'm sick of Google, Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp.
-  I'm going to an Island without Wi-Fi or internet, where there are no cell phones or satellites to spy on me.
- I understand sir, but you need to renew your passport, as it  expired 5 weeks ago

The haircut...       (NEW)  bY Maurice Descoteaux

A teenage boy had just passed his driving test and inquired of his
father as to when they could discuss his use of the car.
His father said he'd make a deal with his son, "You bring your grades up
from a C to a B average, study your Bible a little and get your hair
cut. Then we'll talk about the car."
The boy thought about that for a moment, decided he'd settle for the
offer and they agreed on it.
After about six weeks his father said, "Son, you've brought your grades
up and I've observed that you have been studying your Bible, but I'm
disappointed you haven't had your hair cut."
The boy said, "You know, Dad, I've been thinking about that, and I've
noticed in my studies of the Bible that Samson had long hair, John the
Baptist had long hair, Moses had long hair and there's even strong
evidence that Jesus had long hair."
Love the Dad's reply!
"Did you also notice that they all walked everywhere they went?"

The FINAL Web site update is scheduled on DECEMBER 14, 2017.

SHOPPING ON THE WEB (Source: Consumer magazine Protegez-vous)

Before the advent of Web and e-commerce development, the bargain hunter should move from one shop to another, with all the irritants that includes: fuel costs becoming more expensive, finding parking, cold weather or rain, to elbow with hordes of consumers, etc.. Today, nothing more simple: we open our web browser, visit few sites, you complete the transaction with your credit card and bingo the purchase is completed!

A study by the magazine Protegez-Vous (March 2011), they compared 11 shopping engines on the Web (price comparison). The best Canadian price comparison sites are (in order of priority):

http://www.bing.com/shopping  (Bilingual)

http://www.wishabi.ca/  (English only)

http://www.postescanada.ca/magasineur/  (Bilingual)

Price comparators: 5 tips for shopping

To increase your chances of finding the best price, use at least three comparators.

Since prices vary from day to day and week to week, visit these sites a few times and be patient! Historic prices should help you determine if it is a good time to buy.

Warning: prices that you find by shopping on the Web always accurate. Click on the links to see if they are the same on the websites of retailers.

If they are not displayed by the comparators, do not forget to include shipping costs and customs duties. Many merchants allow you to obtain this information by entering your zip code. In some cases, you must complete before the command to know the shipping costs.

Before making a transaction, check whether the site is secure. The address should begin with <<https>> and a padlock should appear on the navigation bar.

In order to help you to better plan your travelling (By car, by plane or by ship), I did create a new TRAVELLING section on this Website.

You will find the following information:
  1. Travel suppliers offering low prices on the internet..
  2. Updated gas price offered in Canada and USA.
  3. Road conditions.
  4. Links for information related to passport.
  5. Travel insurance (what you need to know), etc
  6. Independant cruise survey

For your information, as a pensioner, you are entitle to some benefits. This may be different from one pensioner to another pensioner.

When I did retire, I was inform that I had a maximum total amount for the reimbursement of my medication and health services. I recently learned that by calling directly Manuvie at 1 800 268-6195, they will give you your up to date cumulative amount that they have paid for your benefits.
If you did lost or you can not find your benefits brochure that you got when you retired, you can get a copy by calling YPG (Benefits at retirement) at 1 800 417-2114 and they will send it to you by mail.

It is not frequent that we have the misfortune to be rubbed or the house goes in flame. However if this happen, do you have a complete inventory of your Heartburn of your home.

I did found a Web site which offer this service FREE of charge and they are recommended by the Metro newspaper who indicate that this service is also secure. For more detail, please refer to the following Web site:

Jan Rogers inform us about a real telephone scam confirmed by 2 serious Web site (Snopes and Hoax busters). For detail information, please click on the following link:
